Part 15—A Small Colored Pencil Rendering

This 12"x18" colored pencil rendering accomplished exactly what I hoped it would—it revealed a few changes that would make the final painting even stronger. None of the adjustments were major, but testing the colors beforehand gave me the confidence to refine the composition before moving to the finished Barnyard Adventures artwork.

I was happy with the direction of this study, but I wasn't finished yet. Before beginning the painting, I created one final full-size colored rendering with several important refinements. You'll see those improvements in the next step of the Barnyard Adventures journey.
