Part 14—New Week, New Step: Value Study

A major milestone has been reached since my last update—I completed the final drawing by combining all three vellum layers into one finished design.

After completing the 24" x 36" drawing, I had it scanned at FedEx Office and printed in three different sizes. Using the 6" x 9" copy, I created a value study to evaluate the balance of lights and darks before adding color.

The value study helped me identify a few areas that needed adjustment to improve the overall composition. My next step is one I've been looking forward to from the very beginning—bringing Barnyard Adventures to life with colored pencils. I can't wait!
