Part 19—Just Pure Painting

Part 19—Just Pure Painting

There is not a lot of fancy technique from here to the end of my artwork—just pure painting. Nothing like some of the past posts that made you think, “Oh! I didn’t know that’s how she did that!” So, in the interest of saving time, I’m making a big leap here from showing my painting timeline.

I’ve painted most of the landscape and have now moved on to my 60 animals, working from left to right across the painting. By now, you should know me well enough to know that changes are still to come!

One of the whimsical aspects of my painting is the corn silo. I wanted to make it look like a zipper! I took extra time painting each individual kernel of corn, but taking the time to add those little extra details can really add to a painting overall.

Direct eye contact from some of the animals can also help personalize the viewer’s experience. As I paint the animals, take note of which ones seem to grab your attention.

I’m already guessing which one will be the overall favorite… but which one will be your favorite?
