Part 1—Planning Barnyard Adventures: Setting the Goal and Building My Animal List

Join me as I begin creating Barnyard Adventures, my fourth Search For 10 hidden object scene!

Every Search For 10 painting begins the same way—with a slightly messy desk, a notebook full of ideas, and an exciting blank canvas waiting to come to life. This time is no different as I start listing ideas for this 24" x 36" painting.

With a love for detail, making a long list of ideas is an essential part of my creative process.  My previous three Search For 10 scenes each took about a year to complete, from the first spark of an idea to the finished painting.

This time I set myself an ambitious challenge: complete Barnyard Adventures in just five month, with a target completion date of January 1, 2025. As you'll see throughout this series, creating detailed artwork often takes unexpected turns, but that's all part of the creative journey.

I'm excited to share each milestone with you as Barnyard Adventures comes to life—one brushstroke, one animal and one hidden object at a time. Stay tuned as the adventure begins!
