While I continue developing the lose sketches for Barnyard Adventures, I'd like to share another project that shows how a simple idea can grow into something much bigger. This 4-inch by 5-inch sketch eventually became a 37-foot by 4 1/2-foot mural I painted at John F. Kennedy Elementary School in 2003, back when I worked as a professional mural artist. Inspiration can strike anywhere—even in the shower! I jumped out and sketched these initial ideas on the only paper available—the back of a rip-off calendar page.
